ARO Fablab is a project within ARC Kenya (http://www.arc-kenya.org). It is based in the western part of Kenya at a place called Majiwa in Bondo district. ARO Fablab was launched on 9th October 2009 in the presence of the President of Fablab Norway Hakon Karlsen and ARC Aid CEO Kjellan Spinanngr.
3 participants from ARO Fablab took a course at MIT-FabLab Norway in 2008 to learn the Fablab concepts, the softwares and the machines used at the Fablabs. Currently, a number of students have been trained in the Fablab and they too assist in the Fablab.
NORAD NORWAY

METHODOLOGY
The concept of the ARO Fablab Kenya West is based on getting the community, the schools and any other groups who are interested in using the Fablab together. ARO Fablab is not the solution to the people's problems, but participates in helping solve them through the tools and the machines in the lab. The people's ideas are very important to consider. We believe that this is the better approach to the people's problems.
